James Hoblyn
President, Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft
James Hoblyn was appointed President, Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft on April 18, 2008. He holds full responsibility for the Amazing Customer Experience initiative for Aerospace as a whole; after-market services for Bombardier’s business and commercial aircraft (Parts Support, Service Centres, Customer Training) and Specialized & Amphibious Aircraft.
Mr. Hoblyn joined Bombardier Aerospace in 1998 as Vice-President, Strategic Planning and Business Development for Business Aircraft. In February 2000, he was appointed Vice-President, Marketing and Program Management and, in August 2001, he was named Managing Director, Bombardier Flexjet Europe (now known as Skyjet International). In September 2002 he was appointed Vice-President, Marketing, Sales Operations and Asset Management for Bombardier Regional Aircraft and, in April 2003, he rejoined the Business Aircraft unit as Vice-President, Contracts, Flight Demonstration Operations, Marketing, Sales Support, Strategic Planning and Product Planning.
In October 2006, Mr. Hoblyn was appointed Senior Vice-President, Customer Experience, Bombardier Business Aircraft, having the mandate to significantly improve customer satisfaction and loyalty among Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft owners and operators. Prior to joining Bombardier he spent four years with McKinsey & Co consulting with leading companies in the financial services, mining, retail, power generation, and pulp and paper industries.
Mr. Hoblyn was born in England and graduated from the University of Waterloo, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering in 1990. After working in the Information Technology industry, he obtained a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from the London Business School in 1994.
